Big Beef Music Review

By Greg

Jennifer Paige Last spring (late winter) the ABC television network revamped and began airing Fantasy Island. It stunk. It's lead in, Cupid, was awesome however. ABC announced that it would move it to Thursday night and put it up against Frasier in the 9PM time slot. For some reason, they never did.

Paula Marshall & Jeremy Piven in CupidIt's a shame. The stars, Jeremy Piven and Paula Marshall, had excellent chemistry. Paula played Jeremy's shrink. Jeremy believed he was cupid incarnate, Paula had the task of proving him wrong. What's this have to do with Jennifer Paige? It was during an episode of Cupid that I first heard Jennifer's debut single Crush. The sexy sounds of Crush intensified my crush on Paula Marshall, who is too hot.

I instantly ran out and purchased the Jennifer's self titled debut CD. Other than Crush, this album is dull, dull, dull. It is filled with clichés and lacks passion in general. Her song Question, for example, includes the ingenious lyrics 'who, what, where, and why?'

Who were the dips that wrote this?
What were they thinking?
Where do they come up with this stuff?
Why bother?

In Jennifer's defense, she was only the co-author of those cheesy lyrics. In fact, she only contributed lyrics to 2 of the 10 songs on this CD. She also has a beautiful voice.

Besides Crush, the only other notable song is Always You. It has some passion, and the bonus remix is fun and is probably getting some club play.

Ranking:   out of 5 BB&B's.
