Anyone who has
listened to Cyndi
Lauper of the 1980's will be quite shocked by this album. In the '80's
her music was straight pop, she dressed funny, talked funny, and sang
funny with somewhat silly lyrics. (Not her fault, it was just the times.)
This album is completely different. She has joined with Soul Solution
to create a good techno dance album. The album is called Disco Inferno
and contains six remixes of the song with that name. Don't let that stop
you, though. Each track is a completely different sound with a mix of
different lyrics. The vocals are suprising as well. Cyndi Laupers has
voice left the '80's and truely matured, she sounds a little like Annie
Lennox. (One of the best contemporary voices.) The backup vocals are great
and really complement Cyndi Lauper's voice. All the tracks (except 4)
have a great dance beat with music that is not to heavy or to much fluff.
Although I did not dance while driving my car, the music is very danceable.
Now that I recognize this music I am sure I will here at most of the dance
bars I go to. (If not I will definitely request it.) Go to CDNOW:Cyndi
Lauper to get a preview of the sounds of this album. Especially check
out the a capella version of Disco Inferno on track 4. I rate this album 4 BB & B's. (As a techno dance selection.) Great techno dance sounds and vocals. The price is right as well. Disco Inferno can be purchased at most music stores. The cd can also be purchase at CDNOW:Cyndi Lauper for $5.49 for the single and all it's mixes($2.49 for just the radio edit) and is well worth it.
